Component:

  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup fresh mint leaves.
  • 1/2 cup boiling water

Preparation:

Mix sugar and mint leaves in a heatproof bowl.

Add boiling water and stir until the sugar melts.

Leave the mint leaves for 15 minutes.

Cover with a jar, cover and refrigerate for two weeks.


Mint syrup for lemonade




Component:

  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup fresh mint leaves

Preparation:

Mix water, sugar and mint leaves in a small pot. Boil over medium heat, stirring until sugar is melted. Boil for a minute, remove from the heat and soak the syrup for about 30 minutes.

Pour the mint syrup into a pot or sterilized glass, remove the mint leaves and store at room temperature.

We use honey instead of white sugar to avoid the use of refined sugar. A regular syrup is 1 part water to 1 part honey. Peel a squash, grate it and squeeze the juice.

Then, break the mint with your hands to remove the oil. Then place the cleaned mint leaves in a heat-resistant bowl. Carefully pour the regular syrup over the mint. Let boil for 10-15 minutes.

Carefully squeeze the mint leaves, squeezing lightly to remove all the oil from the leaves.

Place the mint syrup in a heat-resistant jar with a sealed lid and allow to cool completely. Cover and refrigerate for 1-2 weeks.
